Lessons From a Garage Sale

So, I decided to bite the bullet and join the blogging world. Since I spend a good bit of time looking at eveyone elses ideas, I figured there must be a few who might like what I have up my sleeve!  My niece, Brooke, has a great blog (be sure to check out her business too!) and was kind enough to give me some pointers. Thanks, Brookey! I hope you will follow me and pick up a few tips and steal an idea or two ;)
Let's kick things off with some things learned the hard way!

A few weeks ago I finally had a garage sale. This was my first one ever and, let me tell ya, did I learn a thing or two!  Here is my list: (in no particular order!)
- Old men love to chat
- People don't notice things on the ground (unless they trip over them)
- Kitchen gadgets and dishes sell FAST
- Jewely draws crowds
- Give a kid a toy and make his day
- People don't like to hear "Make me an offer"
- Even if you think an item will NEVER sell it will be the FIRST thing to go
- Don't let your husband do the pricing- everything will be $1
- A babysitter is a must
- Don't pick the muggiest day of the year unless you need to shed a few pounds
Our next go at garage sale-ing will be a much smoother process!
